Luxury Hotels Reimagine French Café Ritual Through Pairing Menu Sofitel and Nespresso are introducing a limited-edition in-room dining experience that pairs specially developed croissants with complementary coffee recipes across 20 properties globally, starting September 1 through November 26, 2026. Rather than serving pastry and coffee side-by-side, the two brands collaborated on three signature pairings that account for flavor, texture, temperature, and aroma. Each experience concludes with a tableside finishing touch—whether brûléed sugar, a citrus mist, or grated dark chocolate and Sichuan pepper—performed live in the guest room.
The Three Pairings The menu includes: Le Brûlé: A cappuccino mousse paired with a crispy honey cream croissant.
According to the release, "The decaffeinated cappuccino's burnt finish enhances the honeyed accents and golden layers of the croissant, while the lightness of the foam contrasts elegantly with its crisp texture." L'Epicé: A spicy chocolate coffee served with a coffee-choco exotic croissant. The pairing "celebrates the timeless alliance of coffee and dark chocolate, reimagined with a vibrant tropical twist," with passion fruit acidity and Sichuan pepper adding depth. Le Tonique: An iced orange espresso tonic with a Paris-Brest croissant built around hazelnut and citrus. The croissant's hazelnut praline diplomat cream "naturally complement[s] the acidity and bitterness of the iced coffee, creating a rich and harmonious aromatic bridge."
Part of Sofitel's Dining Program The collaboration builds on Sofitel's "Please Disturb" in-room dining experience and the brand's La Haute Croissanterie program, launched in January 2024 to elevate croissant-making through seasonal ingredients and local influences. "The café-croissant is instantly recognizable, but this collaboration invites guests to experience it in a completely new way," said Anne-Cécile Degenne, Corporate Executive Chef, Sofitel Hotels & Resorts. "Our pastry chefs and Nespresso's coffee specialists have played with flavor, texture and temperature to create pairings that feel refined, unexpected and deeply personal. The final tableside touch brings the whole ritual to life." Nespresso's Sacha Wittorski added: "Coffee can change the way a pastry is experienced, and a pastry can reveal something new in a coffee. Working with Sofitel's chefs gave us the freedom to explore those connections and create recipes that are sophisticated, playful and made for discovery."
U.S. and Global Locations In the United States, guests can order the pairing menu at Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills and Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square. The experience is also available at 18 other Sofitel properties in major cities including Paris (four locations), London, Singapore, Montreal, Mexico City, Dubai, Barcelona, Sydney, and Brisbane. Guests may order their chosen pairing through in-room dining at any time of day.
Why It Matters
For hotel operators, this collaboration demonstrates how premium brands are leveraging in-room dining partnerships to create memorable, Instagram-worthy experiences that justify premium room rates. The limited-window approach (three months) also creates urgency for guests and a built-in promotional hook for the properties involved.
