Tim Hortons U.S. activated its Halloween limited-time menu on September 30, anchoring the seasonal push around two branded candy partnerships — TWIX® and OREO® — alongside hand-decorated donuts and a reusable Timbits® bucket designed to capture the trick-or-treat occasion.
The beverage lineup leads with the TWIX® and Treat Hot Chocolate, a cocoa-based drink topped with whipped topping, chocolate drizzle, and crunchy TWIX® pieces, and the TWIX® and Treat Iced Capp®, which blends caramel and chocolate flavors with TWIX® pieces directly into the frozen coffee base before finishing with the same toppings. Both items put a licensed confectionery brand at the center of the LTO strategy — a tactic that QSR beverage programs have leaned into heavily to drive trial and social visibility in a crowded fall seasonal window.
The Food Side
On the food menu, the Spookies n' Screams Croissant pairs a baked-fresh croissant with OREO® cookies, chocolate dip, and sweet whipped topping, finished with powdered sugar and OREO® crumbs. Two hand-decorated donuts round out the lineup: a Mummy Donut built on a chocolate cake donut ring with drizzled vanilla-flavored icing, and a Frankenstein Donut — a yeast donut filled with vanilla-flavored fluff and decorated with chocolate and vanilla icings. The hands-on decoration approach signals a continued investment in food theater at the store level, a differentiator that full-service and QSR operators alike have used to justify premium seasonal pricing.
The Bucket Play
Perhaps the sharpest operator move in the lineup is the Timbits® Trick-or-Treat Bucket. Priced at $11.99 filled with 31 Timbits®, the branded plastic bucket doubles as holiday merchandise and a repeat-visit driver: customers can return to refill a purchased bucket for $6 while supplies last. Selling the container as a product in its own right — available with or without Timbits® — gives Tim Hortons a low-cost collectible that extends brand presence well beyond the four walls of the restaurant.
"Halloween at Tims is all about the little moments that make the season fun — a donut that makes your kids smile, a treat you didn't plan on but absolutely deserve," said Maria Posada, Vice President of Marketing for Tim Hortons U.S. Posada noted that guests anticipate the Halloween lineup annually and that the team was particularly enthusiastic about the candy-brand integrations and the new Timbits bucket.
The chain is also carrying over several fall items already on the menu, including a Pumpkin Spice Latte, Frosted Pumpkin Cake Donut, Pumpkin Muffin, Cinnamon Caramel Apple Latte (hot or iced), and Apple Cider Timbits®. That layering of Halloween-specific LTOs on top of a broader autumn platform reflects a deliberate calendar strategy: extend the seasonal revenue window without cannibalizing existing fall SKUs.
Tim Hortons operates more than 6,000 systemwide locations across Canada, the United States, and international markets. All Halloween items are available at participating U.S. restaurants while supplies last.
